Free Lion for those who buy a Mac now

| |

Although it is still not known exactly the specific day of July in which Lion will be made available to us in the Mac app store, surely many already we are counting the days. In the meantime perhaps some of our readers are wondering what will happen if they now get a Mac with Snow Leopard, will have to pay for the update as all over the world?

As you might expect the answer is no, they wont have to pay because, as Apple has done on other occasions, buyers made with Mac today be able to update your system using the update Mac OS X lion app-to-Date. The Apple press release mentioned this on Monday:

Update Mac OS X Lion Up-To-Date will be available free of charge, via the Mac App Store, for customers who have purchased a new system suitable Mac, Apple or an Apple authorized reseller, on June 6, 2011 or at a later date. Users must request their update Up-To-Date in the first 30 days from the date of purchase of your new Mac computer. (Distributors) customers who purchase a suitable Mac to accommodate the Up-To-Date update between the date that Lion is available in the Mac App Store, and on June 6, 2011 will have 30-day period starting from the official date of availability of Lion to make your request.

This policy of updates is completely understandable, because otherwise stop sales for a few weeks with customers waiting to be made with a new Mac that come already equipped with Lion. The difference this time with respect to previous similar services is now Apple not cobra nothing by the update, before the price was about $ 10, price attributed to the disk, the physical copy, element that does not now exist. So if we were thinking of buy a Mac at this time, not us what we should think twice.
