The agenda of Steve Jobs seems to be quite charged this week, just a day after the keynote which gave beginning to developers WWDC 2011Conference, made its appearance also in the municipality of Cupertino, before the City Hall, to be able to present to the local authorities your project again campus for the needs of the business of the Apple.
As you recall, and if you follow the blog regularly, Apple acquired a few months ago the facilities of the former campus of HP located not far from Infinite Loop, the address of the headquarters of the Apple. Shortly after this, we also inform you that apparently Norman foster would be behind the design of the new Campus that would knock existing buildings to create a modern and attractive campus "Apple style".
As well, following the submission of Jobs now already are revealed quite a few details on the form and functioning of the new building. As you can see in the video and images that we leave further down, the campus will be formed almost exclusively by a gigantic spaceship-shaped building (in the words of Jobs) or mothership that will give host to 12,000 employees, a quantity that may seem impressive, but that is within the current needs of the companyHe is forced to rent adjacent buildings to make way for 6,700 employees who do not have working space in the central.
And what it has learned of this new building? In principle, Jobs says in the video that great designers and architects are working on it (I guess this makes reference to Norman Foster). In addition, mentioned that they will carry to this specific case the experience gained during these years to stores Apple Retail Stores around the world, is for this reason that the building is full of glass. By the way, Steve has commented on these huge crystals which can be seen in the video, that there will be neither an only straight glass, all of them are curved to satisfy the curved design of the architectural ensemble.
On the other hand the parking will be located in the basement, i.e. underground for afear not the beautiful view and all the facilities will be self-sufficient with regard to energy (remember that this also said in our post "Apple town"). The chosen energy is the natural gas by efficient and cheap, as well as other undisclosed sources.
The truth, it seems amazing, so it is not difficult to imagine that great coffee shop that Steve Jobs described, which can accommodate three thousand employees sitting or a huge auditorium for presentations that will eliminate the need to move to San Francisco, Moscone Center, to the Conference and events such as the Monday.
Finally Apple has thought much the green areas, because they plan to give to the place of 6,000 trees (as opposed to the current 3,700) which would make that green areas pass to be 20% of the total of soil to 80% in the future. It seems a beastly project and is just the beginning. Having listened to Jobs said that it intends to make the site in a site must-visit for students and lovers of architecture, we can imagine the waste of innovative ideas that will give citation on this new campus, a campus that compared to the ugly and outdated HP campus, really looks like an alien structure.
